Time for some February
Creative Crew projects!

This little mailbox is for my daughter,
to replace the tired one she has
had for five years. . .

Every time I have to go somewhere overnight
without her, 3x3 cards mysteriously
appear in her mailbox. . .

She was so amazed by this when she was
younger :) I called it mommy magic!

Here you can see the little Love trinket
from the Trinket Hearts accessory.

The paper used for this is

Twitterpated Designer Series Paper-
found in the Occasions Mini, as
well as Melon Mambo cardstock.

Some rhinestone bling and satin ribbon
and we are good to go!

Some fun treats in here and it will
be a sweet little surprise on the 14th. . .

wand I made for my 3 year old:

and they are so wonderful. . .

Here is the centerpiece I made for
the kitchen table:

I need to find a new vase, as we left
for a weekend and when we got home
the cat had knocked it over!

I had set it on the windowsill so I
could wipe down the table. . .

I wanted to share some projects I made for the
Creative Crew on Splitcoast Stampers. . .

The creative crew is a group of
demonstrators that are given challenges
each month, following a theme.

January's theme:
New to Me!

One of the main focal points of this challenge
was to use new products in new ways. . .
even if it was just new to *you*!

I was very excited to use these Heart Framelits,
which are a new Stampin' Up product!

They cut beautifully!

The embossing around the outside
on the scallops-that was added by me
using the Simply Scored tool. <3

It is a valentine for my oldest
daughter who is currently
in love with the color: Purple :)

Here you can see some of the dimension
achieved with punches and
Stampin' Dimensionals. A *must*.

I have three more projects coming
from the January challenges,
and soon the February challenge
projects will be up!

One thing about being absent virtually
over the holidays? I have a backlog of
fun projects to share! LOL

Reading is so important in my home.
I am doing my level best to raise
my girls to love reading
as much as their mommy does.

It's kindof a magical picture for me :)

The stamping that has been happening around here
this month has been primarily digital. . .

Do you have MDS? Do you have any idea
what that means?? LOL

My Digital Studio comes in various options,
but it is a digital design software using all
Stampin' Up! artwork and exclusive colors.

I am making calendars for Grandparents this year,
and did last year also. This year's gift comes with a
scrapbook to put last year's pages in :)

January's page:

I do not profess to be an MDS expert, as I am
just figuring everything out.

(I will tell you however, that digital art
from Stampin' Up is compatible with other
programs, and you can use non-SU artwork
with MDS! Go Crazy with it!)

I tend to like lots of color and contrast,
with minimal "fuss" so far. . .

And always, the primary focus is the picture
of my babies. . .because that's what they really
want to see anyway!! Or maybe that's just me?

February's page:

I made sure to do plenty of pages with both
girls, and each of them have a couple where
they are the focus. Especially their
birthday month. . . .

March page:

I plan to share all the pages. . .some are
better than others! One thing I will say is
that every time I use MDS I learn something new
and cool! I also have been scoping out:

Freaky Clean. . .

Here we go again!

The Freak tour has arrived, and this month we are
keeping it nice and clean for ya :)

Clean and Simple (CAS) that is!

You may have arrived here from Jan Tinklenberg's blog,
or maybe you were stopping by to see me?? Awwww!

Either way, you can make the loop around and see some
fabulous projects, all CAS, and all Stampin' Up!

My first project is one of my favorite-the scalloped
square notecard made with the BigShot.

I had some fun with the Stripes Textured
Empressions Embossing folder. . .little slanted
stripe for interest!

Sometimes your favorite people need a little happy mail.

Look at that darling little percolator stamped with
Stazon on Brushed Silver cardstock! Supa Cute!

I used my hobby blade to cut the inside of the handle. . .

Now *this* is my kind of treat holder!

I made this using the Movers and Shapers XL Die,
adding a few score marks. . . .

A top note, not full size, to keep it closed
and make it purty.

And then some coffee, to make it all better.

Because it cures what ails ya. :)

I've never shared an MDS (My Digital Studio)
page on my blog before??

How can that be?

I made an entire calendar last year for family
Christmas gifts, which they loved.

Or so they tell me! LOL

It is a software program that lets you turn
your favorite photos into something
FABULOUS.

Then you get to make whatever you want
from it! Like what? Calendar pages, drop in pages
for your scrapbooks, journals, the list goes
on and on! Plus you get hostess benefits on both the
Product *and* the professional printing! Hubba Wha?

I could talk your ear off for a while, but instead
I will say Pretty Please just ask if you have
any questions about this versatile and fun product!

I have decided to share my pages from last
year with you, but first this page from this year. . .

We had so much fun this year with our
Nightmare Before Christmas theme!

Our favorite Halloween Movie EVER.
Okay, that and the Wizard of Oz.

Technically not a Halloween movie,
but that is always when we watch it!

And what's more? I actually made the
costumes (for the kids) this year, which I never do.

It was fun!
And speaking of fun. . . I will share with you:

It snowed half a foot two days
before Halloween! Crazy!

This one was taken by the photographer who
was at my Hubby's company party.

We won the couple's costume contest!

And finally, a messy favorite of mine :)

A gift from Barbie

Isn't it just gorgeous?

A group of my friends, the Michigan Minglers as we call ourselves,
were swapping over the end of the summer. Because I couldn't
swap, Barb gave me this as a gift!

30 Second Window Cards. . .

Halooooo!

I am here to show you how to make a window in the front of your card.
I use this to show off fun little images, or punch art
(as you have seen in the last two posts).

Now, a disclaimer: Any stress induced by the sight of my messy desk
is in no way to be blamed on me! I can't help it! It just happens!

If you have been to my Facebook page,
you have seen firsthand the crazy fallout. . .

This is me apologizing in advance!
If I waited for it to be clean to take photos??
Nothing would get done!

Here goes. . . .

To start, I determine where I want the opening to be on the front of my card.

In this case, I just set a punched circle with the Ghost adhered to it on the
front of my card and moved it around until I had an idea of where I wanted it.

Right about here. . . .

It is okay to punch your cardstock with a layer
of Designer Series Paper on it.

Two layers of cardstock?

No No!
Don't do it, girlfriend. Bad for your tools!

So what now?? Here is what I do:

Using the same punch as the original opening on the card front,
punch a hole from a post-it note.

Be sure to punch part of the sticky strip on the back!

Place your cardfront onto the card base.
Please don't adhere it with permanent adhesive!

I used dotto, so I could hold it up/check it out/take it back off when I want.

Once you have it just where you want it. . . .

Take your sticky note, and put it in the opening.
Give it a little rub for luck.

At this point, because you have NOT used permanent adhesive,
you should be able to pull off your front layer with ease.

I keep my thumb on that post-it so it doesn't move while I pull the layer off.

There it is, just telling you what to do!

You should be able to carefully move your punch over it
so you can make a perfectly lined up opening.

Try not to knock it off while getting the punch in place. . .

Peek-a-boo!

You are all set to use permanent adhesive now! LOL

For my card, I then punched a black circle and
glued it down right thru the opening so it would be in just the right spot.

I had that little ghost set down on my desk, sticky side up. . . .

Took me a while to find him!
He was stuck to my Stazon lid. . .

The little stinker!

Hopefully that was helpful for those of you who may not
have made a card like this before. Easy and fun!

You can also use a punched post-it to find the perfect placement for your
front layer. Just stick it where you like it best and punch!

Another example of a window card-same layout/different image,
can be found here. The difference being, I used a smaller opening.
Not revealing the entire image can be fun! Keeps 'em guessing :)

Are these tutorials okay? Too many pictures? Too few? Too wordy?
I am new at this and would like to make sure that everything is clear
and would appreciate any feedback or suggestions you may have!

Owl Cuteness. . .

Since I have been having so much fun with the Owl Punch lately,
how about an actual owl?

All the ladies in my family LOVE owls.
The owl punch in the Stampin' Up! catalog is tons of fun for us!

I made this birthday card while brainstorming
for my daughter's birthday party invitations.

It is the same layout as the Scary Sweet Ghost card,
but instead of the larger opening the 1 3/8 circle punch is used.

The sentiment is from the set Bring on the Cake,
punched with the Scallop Oval Punch.

I dotted the eyes like I have been lately-
with a Stampin' Write marker (Basic Black).

Not only would it be a time saver if I ended up making a lot of these. . .
I really like how it looks a little more animated.

He makes me smile :)

The birthday hat was made with the Petite Pennant builder punch,
in addition to the retired Trio Flower punch.
The branch is the Little Leaves sizzlit in Wild Wasabi.

and how I line up the front layer with the card base.

Hello, Lovelies!

As promised, I am here to show you my second little ghost
made from Stampin' Up's extra cute Owl Punch!

See? Isn't he a sweetie?

He wants to give you his heart <3

Or maybe he is just screaming in fear. . . .you be the judge!

I love to make these window cards. Have you ever made one?

In case you haven't, I plan to show you how I do it. . .but today

I am going to show you how I made this little guy's fun little self.

The one in the middle is from this project, and I explained how I made him
in this post. You really need to have seen that one to pick up at this point, so
if you haven't? Go do that now! Then hop back over here. . . .

Here we go for ghost #2:

At this point, you have already punched the owl body, and trimmed off his
poor little legs. . .but this time you will finish the bottom with the Curly Label Punch.

Try and center the little point if you can.

Now you need a second little owl from the Owl Punch. . .
because feet will become hands!

Trim up into the body to make some little arms. . .

Go ahead and punch yourself a little black heart-also from the Owl Punch.

At this point, I just put some tombo on the scrap, and dabbed a bit
on the back of his little hands. If you have little tweezers they are handy.

A piercing tool to put a bit of pressure on it for a second while the glue sets.
Again for the other side, please!

If you cut a tiny edge piece from your sheet of dimensionals,
it will be the perfect size for the back of his little heart.

I used my piercing tool so I could see what I was doing here. . .

The heart will be adhered, but his little arms need to be attached at the shoulder,
so a little glue on your piercing tool will place it in the right spot without much trouble.

Give it a pinch so it sticks well!

Awwwwww!

If his arms extend past his body, use your Paper Snips or
a hobby blade to remove the excess.

The sentiment (Grateful Greetings) is so perfect as
this little ghost is supposed to be scary but instead he is sweet :)

Okay, I'm done! LOL

Honestly, I didn't even know there was such a thing available on my blog!
I have had my feedburner email subscription for ages now,
but I am unfamiliar with "followers".

Sounds very strange, but I will give it a try :)

And for those of you who follow me on feedburner?

All that being said. . . Time for my first photo tutorial!

No, don't be afraid!

All you need are these punches and a bit of paper and glue!

Here we go.

Whisper white in the adorable Owl Punch, making sure you get the main body
and the two largest eye circles. . .

Here they are. Easy enough!

I know it seems cruel, but cut his legs off.

Okay, now with a random post-it note, hang on to the little guy,
and we will just trim off a bit of the extra bits . . . .He doesn't need them!

Okay, so hold him in the punch just so.
I tried to have the points of the scallops close to the
outer edge of the paper.

To give him a more finished look, as you can see here:

Plug his little eyes on with dimensionals, and give him a bit of a confused look :)

I used the fine tip of my Stampin' Write marker to do this.
If you keep them close together like that he looks a bit startled, right??

Love him.

His mouth is the smaller eye circle from the Owl Punch,
with Basic Black cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed Lisa's extra fun projects,
and are inspired to make some treats to share with those you love!

This month's theme? Fall Into Step -- Autumn, Halloween and Thanksgiving Ideas

I have used some of Stampin' Up's amazing Frightful Sight Product Suite
to hopefully get you "in the mood" for a great Holiday! (IBC p.22)

Two fun things to share today. . . .

First, a card with a little gift attached!

This set, Scaredy Cat, makes a dramatic embossed image. Here I used Basic Black embossing powder with versamark ink on both Basic Grey and Whisper White cardstock.

In the picture below, the spider comes standard on this sheet of Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper. . . However, the upper right corner of the card needed one too! I added him (in the picture above) with Versamark and Black Embossing Powder.

Above you can see the 1 1/4 in. circle punch in Dusty Durango,
clipped with a darling little clip from our Clips Assortment. Fun times!
Of course the Basic Black 5/8in. Satin is so gorgeous. . .

I love this little ghost! On a dimensional he steals the show :)

But wait!

What if you could take off the front panel and keep it forever and ever???

Here you can see the detachable bookmark:

Because people are impatient, and I was worried the project might be ripped in the frenzy of trying to open such a cute card. I attached the bookmark inside the front panel to avoid issues :)

Below you can see where I added some dotted lines to show where to cut it off:

Last but not least. . .A spooky fancy favor.

Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper run thru our Big Shot. . .

then add a little punched Ghost to match the gorgeous paper!

(I took pictures of the process, so I will post those in a day or two if you are
interested in recreating this little cutie patootie.)

In the set Tiny Tags is where you will find this adorable Boo stamp. Perfect!

Punch it with our Jewelry Tag punch, tie a pretty bow in the
Black Satin Ribbon that I ADORE. . .
attach with some Vintage Trinkets and you are good to go!

Shabby Chic Spice Cake

This is my current favorite paper and stamp set!

Spice Cake and Friendly Phrases. . .just the names sound like a fun time :)

I don't usually sponge the edges of things, but I wanted to show the ladies at my
last class that you could make it shabby if that is your thing.

It also brings out a bit of the detail in the embossing.

Also, it looks fun with this paper and the Victoria lace ribbon

Everyone needs to be told they are wonderful now and then.

Take these Espresso Doilys. . .
I find myself sitting at my table just staring like it is one of those magic eye pictures.

Hot air balloons!

Frankly, you could use this set for anyone. . .who doesn't like hot air balloons??

I volunteered to send birthday cards to the members of my local MOMS club chapter. Have you ever heard of MOMS club? I joined a few months ago, after moving to southern PA, in the hopes of meeting some local ladies and making friends. I am happy to say I have met some great people!

Which is a bit of a relief, as I was feeling like a bit of a shut-in!

Can you see the embossed stripes around the edges? My lighting needs some work. . .Still haven't found that perfect set up in this house yet!

This is a very simple card, and I made 10+ in short order. The two-step balloon in Lucky Limeade is stamped-off for the background, then full strength on the ink for the stripes.

The set is *very* easy to use! I didn't use my stamp-a-majig at all.
Not that you couldn't, because of course you could. . . I was being lazy!

Two moves later, and in a different state. . .but hale and healthy so the rest is all just details! It has been too long. I am stamping, and have been this whole time, but blogging has been pretty low on the list of priorities.

It was awesome.

Have you ever been? If not, you should immediately join my downline and we can go together next year!!! No I’m not kidding!!!

I am going to post for a while about some of my favorite things that I was able to see while attending. I took a few pictures. . .okay, nearly 2000 pictures. . .so as I sort thru them and pick my favorites I will share :)

After all, that was the theme this year. . .Share what you Love! And I don’t think it would come as a surprise to *anyone* who has ever been to my blog: I love Stampin’ Up!

Before I share any samples, I want to share about who I was able to go with this year.

We all stamp together at home, but hanging out for Convention is something altogether different :) We had an amazing time!

We got to eat out at yummy restaurants. . .

We had to take the bus tour to Riverton, for those who had never been!

The Freaks are at it again! You probably arrived here via the irreverent and hilarious Brandy Wiggins-Cote (have you seen her scrapbook pages?!?!?)

If you are starting here? Welcome! Forward or backward this tour should give you a ton of Easter project ideas!

My first project was inspired by the uber-talented Gretchen Barron (a freak I might add!) and her mini matchbox drawer set. . . Ever since I saw that cutie I wanted to try it-but it hasn’t happened yet LOL!

Story of my life. . .

Anyhoo, I needed a bigger one so I used our Box #2 to make this dresser card kit for my oldest daughter. She is a crafty girl like her momma tries to be, so I wanted to make her something fun for Easter that she could make things with.

Some punched images, layers for them, ribbon, crayons. . .and an hour or two that mom doesn't have to entertain! Priceless!

I cut off the top of the box flaps, and cut some drawers from our So Saffron paper. I don’t know if you can see them, but I used little bead “spacers” behind our flower brads to give them a little boost! Stole ‘em from my daughter’s bead box. . .don’t tell!

But not every Easter project has to be that involved, right?

Here is a cutsey treat made with our Hugs Notes that can be found in the Occasions Mini catalog:

The super cute bunny is from the hostess set Picnic Parade (Occasions Mini), as are all the punched images from the above kit. He is cut out and layered on a 1in So Saffron circle.

That Satin Ribbon is a favorite right now :)

Inside the treat is a folded glassine envelope, with a few little chocolate eggs inside. Yummy!

Speaking of Hugs Notes. . .I have some folded in half to go with the kit above for making her little notecards. Just the right size for passing around at school!

That being said, she will probably call me tomorrow and tell me she already saw everything and I can give it to her early :)

This Shades of Spring Designer Series paper was literally screaming my mother's name from the mini catalog page! She is a purple fanatic, so this is going to make her a happy woman :)

I am only going to post one picture of each project today (so I don't go on forever!), but I will revisit these later so you can see them in more detail.

Mom specifically requested birthday cards and thank you's, so that is where I am starting. More Shades of Spring DSP, with some fun bling added (Eggcellent Eggs kit-love it!!) in the pattern. Some lovely Certainly Celery Satin ribbon, and a Flower Trio punched flower laquered with Crystal Effects.

Seriously-this paper! It is so gorgeous! I wanted to show it off a bit, so I went big :)

Sitting there wishing for some Orchid Opulence satin ribbon. . . HOLD THE PHONE! I have Whisper White, so I'm good! A little ribbon dyeing and I am good to go.

I made Mom a tin for cards years ago, but I am hoping to get a bunch made for her this year. . .so I am going larger! If she want's she can use this for something else, but it sure beats conventional packaging. . .I love these forget me not keepers!

Now this evolved a bit.

It started out as something to go on a card, then it just went crazy! I pieced it together from cut and punched images in the same gorgeous paper. Laquered with Crystal Effects and then more bling from that Eggcelent Eggs kit that I love. Stylized Silver hardware Ribbon Slides, and a center from a clear rhinestone brad. Phew!

It actually has a pin backing, but I am maxed out on pictures for this post!! I put it on a ribbon so she can use it for a bookmark, or take it off to put it on something else. . .

Well, that is it for me!! Sorry there aren't more detailed pictures, but I will make up for it later!

I thought I would start February off right with a long overdue blog post. . .

Hope this month finds you well and happy!

As for me, I find myself in a new (temporary) home, as I sold my house.
Against all odds, although not so very surprising to me. I adore that house, and there had been so much love and happiness there. . .someone was bound to feel it :)

Speaking of love. . .Valentine's day is right around the corner!

This is one of the projects we are making in my Valentine's Day class this coming Saturday. I am so loving these new toys from the Occasions Mini Catalog!

My posterboard didn't survive the move, so until I pick up more you get to see my lovely fingernail in the photo :)

However, the background is the original maple woodwork from when this home was built in 1892, so that is a treat! I will share more about the house in another post. . .

I am going to share with you my “little experiment” with backgrounds and the Serene Snowflakes stamp set. I LOVE these snowflakes! I used the same colors and stamp set, just different background techniques so you can compare . . .

This first card is using Stampin’ Up’s new Shimmer paint:

I don’t know how well this photographed, but there is a of Night of Navy layer, as well as a window sheet layer directly over top. Both layers are stamped with frost white shimmer paint. I used a sponge dauber to apply the paint directly to the stamp.

The effect is so gorgeous! Stamp the window sheet first, so you can see exactly where you need snowflakes to fall underneath. . .

The sentiment is from the hostess set Christmas Punch, and the ribbon is basic grey taffeta.

Subtle and marvelous come to mind, too. . .but let’s move on!

The second is a brayered Background:

Here, I went for the glossy cardstock and layered my colors. Snowflakes in versamark, brayer with Night of Navy ink, more snowflakes in Night of navy both stamped off and full color. . .

Oh My Sparkle!! Dazzling Diamonds anyone?!?

Enjoying Life at Convention!!!

WoW! What an awesome time!

I was unable to take my laptop this year, as it is my daughter’s connection with Daddy overseas and I wanted them to be able to chat via webcam. That being said-they didn’t even use it while I was gone. . .Which makes me *really* wish I had taken it to share everything with you all!

Anyhoo, I wanted to share a project I made before I left. This is the notebook I made for my downline, Jen.

I wanted us to have matching ones, so I picked up two. I want to say it was at Meijer? I have been really trying to remember where I picked these up, as everyone who photographed this at convention wanted to know!

It has been a while since I bought it so I think my brain let that go as Useless Information :)

What I do know is it said “Pink and Black” on the cover before I covered it. Hope that helps!

Okay, People. This stamp is seriously gorgeous!!!

The new Stampin’ Up! Medallion stamp is inked in Pink Passion classic ink, then sponged around the edges and in the center with Basic Black Classic ink to get that purple gradation. Who Knew??

Also new: 5/8in black grograin

Black goes with everything!

I am not sure how clear it is in this photo, but there’s Dazzling Diamonds (applied with a 2-way glue pen) on select points of the medallion. The entire white panel is then laminated with a self adhesive document laminating sheet.

I am missing my hubby today.

So in his honor, I am posting the project I made for him. . .as did my club members in May. Happy Daddies all over the place!

You may have seen this brag book before. . .I posted another one *here* and there is also a link to the splitcoast tutorial on that post.

You should make one of these! It is fun and easy!

The corduroy button is manly, right? And the twine? What man doesn’t like twine, I ask you?? Or trees?

It does have the color Sage Shadow, but if you call it blue-green when you are talking to him you should be fine. . .

Of course, once he opens it and sees all the pictures of his favorite little people, he won’t care what color it is :)

I put some coordinating colored page protectors in there, which allowed for some artistic expression by my 6year old. Five double sided pages with photos, notes to daddy, and a lot of love.

I know he isn’t going to have it by today (apparently the mail is being interfered with b/c of weather), but I hope he gets it soon!

I wanted to share with you-I have been a bit preoccupied lately. . .Some of you may already know this, but I am guessing most of you do not.

My husband left April 30th, for Iraq. He is not enlisted, but is working with an Army unit to catch bad guys. I am not going to go into alot of detail-I know that this isn’t primarily a personal blog. He is going to be gone for 1 year, with two brief visits (hopefully at home) during that time. If you think of it, maybe you can say a prayer for his safe return?

I wanted you to understand when I refer to him as being gone, or talk about missing him occasionally.

Like right now.

Besides, it is Father’s Day! I have to talk about Daddy :) And look at our babies, too, while I am oversharing! Aren’t they the sweetest ever!

Avery just turned one! Doesn’t it seem like I just had her yesterday?!?!

Okay, so maybe a little earlier than yesterday. . .but still!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Daddies out there. . .For those who know someone who has a Daddy overseas, give them a hug today.

I wanted to share a card with you that I made for the Control
Freaks swap group. I had a few extra, so I swapped this at the MI Mingle in March with a few people also.

The card base is Basic Grey, with Whisper white and A Walk in the Park Designer series paper for the front layer.

I used my latest favorite thing- the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions die. . .to be used with the Big Shot.

A Big name for something that takes about thirty seconds to run thru and get some serious WoW factor!

This stamp set is soooo darn cute!

This card is from my February Stamp camp. Yes-I am behind on my picture taking! Sorry to make you wait so long on this extra cute one :)

The note card was made with the Big Shot and the Scallop Circle die.

I left two scallops uncovered by paper to get the fold. So very easy to make! The leaves on the branch were inked in Kiwi Kiss, and the excess Kiwi was removed with a blender pen. Ink the branch with your Chocolate Chip Marker and you are done!

Circles were cut using the new Circle Scissor Plus = Awesome!

The ribbon is Kiwi Kiss Satin with the alternate side being Very Vanilla.

I could just sit here and rub this ribbon between my fingers it is so yummy. If you don’t know what I am talking about-order it ASAP!

I didn’t realize when I took the initial photo, that I photographed the incomplete card, and not the class sample :) I pierced the scallops using my mat pack and piercing tool. Sorry you don’t get the full effect!

My daughter loved this card so much, she insisted that it be her valentine this year :)

Here are the ones she stamped (herself, I might add!) Mom did all the cutting of course. We didn’t start these until *after* Christmas, so there wasn’t time to have her do the cutting by herself. . .

Like I would let her touch my circle scissor! Come on people :)

This ribbon is from the free Sale-A-Bration choices thru the end of the month. If you have no idea what I am talking about. . .email me immediately!

Since the ribbon didn’t cost me anything, this bow is HUGE :)

The chipboard letters are from Stampin’ Up’s On Board Lots of Letters, colored with Chocolate Chip craft ink and a sponge dauber. Super easy! I forgot to file off the little tufts where it was attached to the board, so don’t look super close :)

Faux stitching with the Stampin’ Up! Mat Pack along with the piercing tool that can be found in the Crafter’s tool kit.

This little flower was very technically made. . . .

See, you use punches (in this case, 1in and 1 1/4in circles) and get some assorted sizes, then you crumple them up a bunch of times and wad them up in a tiny ball. . . .Then you flatten them out. The end.

So tough, right!

The little button is from Button Bouquet and is tied with a bit of Linen thread. You must try this little rosette. It is addictive!

Sweet Stems + Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper = Sweet Tart

This is a swap card I made a month ago. I really like the white embossed sentiment from the stamp set Thank you Kindly on our DSP. That Raspberry Tart Designer series paper is soooo pretty! The other papers are Whisper White and Pretty in Pink.

A little bit of Rose Red 1/4in grograin and a bit more white with our fab scallop edge punch. The whole Pretty in Pink cardfront is on dimensionals.

The colors used on the flowers were Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral, Rose Red, and Kiwi Kiss. All "smooshed" into the lid and picked up with a Blender Pen.

The window was made using the wide oval punch. I have been using that punch a lot! So glad to have it! Okay, so I have all the punches except one, but who is counting?? The best part of being a demonstrator-you get all the fun tools. And stamps. Okay, and the ribbon and the paper! Before anyone else. And Cheaper! Hello?!?!

Here are a couple of samples from my Love U Much Bundle class. Luv'd the bundle! It was nice to have a class with discounted product, so everyone got a ton of goodies to take home.

I wanted to make a decent sized tin, instead of the usual smaller ones. Not all of my peeps have covered tins before, so they needed to know how! I love making tins for gifts, so it wasn't exactly a hardship :) These ones came from Walmart around Christmas time.

We didn't do modpodge on this. Just Candy Lane paper and sticky strip, along with Riding Hood Red striped grograin, and fun doodads from my accessories stash. The scallop on the top is the Scallop Circle big shot die.

Gotta love that Circle Scissors cutting tool!!! I was able to make a perfect size circle to go on my scallop circle, as well as the perfect mat in Riding Hood Red! Yay for awesome new tools :)

The candy holder was inspired by Jill Olson. I am going to hang it on my daughter's door on Valentine's day. She will love me forever :)

I used the Top Note die, with medium flat cello bags. The holes are punched with my crop-a-dile, and the ribbon is just threaded thru. Super easy!

This element is made of: scallop circle in Whisper White, metal edge tag, 1 3/8 circle in pirouette pink, stamped image punched with the 1 1/4in circle. The heart was cut out. Coloring was done with blender pens and Riding Hood Red ink.

This particular card was my contribution to a swap last month. The Designer paper is Bella Rose, with our new trio heart punch, and the Yummy stamp set. I used Chocolate Chip classic ink , as well as Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White Cardstock.

I love this Faux Bow with grograin ribbon! So pretty. . .this is the 5/8in Chocolate Chip Grograin. Also Yummy, but not named Yummy. . .Okay, so it's late.

Did you watch the two hour Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice tonight, too??? Can't wait for next week!

I have been on hiatus-so to quickly catch you up. . .Here is my latest favorite picture of my girls.

My oldest lost her two front teeth! She is stinkin' cute, hey?

What a ham :) She was pretty excited to be toothless!

My youngest is 8 months already!!! Holy cats that went by fast!

If you look closely, you can see her first little baby tooth in there :) We have been teasing her big sister, telling her the tooth fairy gave her teeth to Avery! Fun times.

I have been stamping and have lots to share-I need to get a different setup for pictures, as my baby girl sleeps in the room I used to take all my pictures in. . .a bit of a problem! I will work around it, so I can show y'all what I have been up to. In the meantime. . .a bit of a background change!

November's club project

Ever since seeing this tutorial on making glitter ornaments by Amy Rysavy. . .I have wanted to try it!!! Of course, two years later I actually get all the stuff :)

Don't wait as long as I did! It is really easy and super fun!

I made the ornament box from a 12x12 sheet of textured Real Red cardstock.

The scoring for this box is the same as the scoring for this treat holder-

score everything thru step 5, but instead of having the corners point in, fold them out and they will make a 4x4 box. I used a brad to hold the sides together.

The lid is a 7 1/8 square, scored at 1 1/2 on all four sides. Snip the corners and fold!

The little label uses the stamp set Winter Post, punched with the designer label punch, layered on a 1 3/8 circle and a wide oval. . . all punches are Stampin' Up! of course :)

For the ornaments you really need Amy's tutorial to make this super easy (see above link). I did do a couple of things that were slightly different than her step by step:

-I used 20 drops of reinker in the ornament AND spritzed five times with water directly into the ornament. I got a little better coverage with water, even tho' I didn't blend my colors.

-I didn't use a full 1.5tsp of glitter because I didn't want any left over-it is super easy to shake some extra in there if you need it. I ended up not having any wasted glitter, and that makes me happy!

-I was super curious about fine cosmo glitter and how it would look, so I gave that a try.

SO AWESOME! Here are some pictures:

These use Riding hood red, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery reinkers. All have Dazzling diamonds for the glitter. Fun to use rubons, too!

The fine cosmo is SUPER sparkly! almost like colored tinsel in there! I was very impressed :)

scallop envelpe box

The ever popular scallop envelope box. . .

You may or may not have already seen it, but we made one at my last stamp camp and I hadn't had a chance to post it.

It is made from four scallop envelopes, using sticky strip to assemble.

This uses the curly label punch bundle, 1 3/4 circle punch, flower fusion, riding hood red striped ribbon, and washington apple designer series paper.

And of course the big shot ;)

Super easy once you figure out where to put the adhesive!

Here they are :)

After fall comes winter. . . .

Dazzling diamonds on the snowflakes, both stamped and felt. . .
I used tombo adhesive, so they are more like 3D dots.

Ooooo. . .springtime!

And a MI spring would not be complete without a little Robin :)
I used a blender pen and bashful blue/riding hood red

Finally. . .Summer

I wanted the summer tree to be really full. You usually don't see as much of the branches, right? So I added a bunch of flowers and leaves.

I actually punched out those flowers with our little trio of flowers punch (formerly of the three for you tag punch box). There is a bit of white space, but it works pretty well!

I have been wanting to make this!

I was up entirely too late making it last night, when I had about 35 other things I should have been doing. . . Don't you just love the Season of Friendship stamp set!

I am very thankful for my good friends, so I am dedicating this box to them :)

The tag is chipboard, and I punched holes with my crop-a-dile to thread thru the new Stampin' Up Alpine Ribbon Originals. . . soooo yummy!

This is the fall scene. I have a scene for each of the seasons, and I will finish taking the pictures and post them soon! The colors I used are Riding Hood Red Chocolate Chip and More Mustard.

I took some pictures of my kids today. The little ones change so fast!

She is five months this week! Where does the time go???

I made this while playing around with my ribbon, making Regan's banner. . .

I have something specific in mind :)

I will show you when I finish part two of this project!

I just used a needle and thread, with one of the scallop circles of fabric I had left from the banner and my pink pirouette striped ribbon.

Let me assure you, I do NOT sew.

I do have a sewing machine (thanks to my mom) but I barely know how to use it. So, if I make something that involves needles and thread--it is the most elementary of projects that most likely a 5 year old could do with ease.

Just to clarify ;)

Anyway, I made this exactly how you make them from paper, as seen at the '07 Stampin' Up! convention and at this tutorial. Instead of paper, I used ribbon. Instead of brads/glue dots, I used needle and thread. Just build your bow one ribbon at a time.

My sweet little lady.

They had a poetry reading on Friday, where each child in her school would recite their poem (from memory) on stage with a microphone in front of students and parents. Let me tell you-I did NOT think she was going to do this! But there she was, a little unsure, holding her teacher's hand (thank you, Kristi :) reciting "The puppy ran off with my slippers" by Jack Prelutsky.

You did it, Regan! I am so proud of you!

This was super fun to make!

I added the chipboard, rather than the pocket. . .for me, I thought it would be more functional if I could prop it up on my desk. . . someone on SCS had the idea to put pictures on the bottom rather than the dates, so I may end up doing that also!

I used the stamp set Holiday Blitz to add to the pages, as well as other sets that caught my eye. Class details are in the previous post. . .

We used the sets Upsy Daisy, and the new Ronald McDonald set Say it with Scallops. Love that new Square scallop punch!

Regan's Banner

I finally have some pictures of it :)

I took these right before I left--they turned out a bit better than the poor broom. I am feeling guilty about the misrepresentation of his kewlness. I think new pictures are in order when I get home!

So. . .I made this the same way as the Cheer banner in the previous post (see below), except I added some different colors in the scallops along the top.

I also embellished this one, and I hadn't done that before.

I used the pretties kit,

Filigree Brads,

Button Bouquet,

several ribbons including 1 1/4in pink pirouette (for the main ribbon along the top), kiwi vanilla satin, whisper white and pretty in pink taffeta. . .there may be more but I can't remember :)

as well as the flower fusion too pink pirouette felt flowers. . .

*gasp*

That was a mouthfull! This was super fun to make, btw. . .you should definitely try it! Of course I should mention I used the big shot ;) as well as the pennant die, scallop circle #2, and the serif alphabet. . .

Okay, so I am exausted and I need to crash. . .the mingle was a blast, and I will tell you all about it--but not right now. I can barely keep my eyes open!

So sad for those of you who couldn't make it, and I hope you can make it the next time around :)

A Witchin' Broom

Anyhoo, I made a witches' broom for a Halloween class last Saturday.

The finished broom is taller than knee height! I had the twisty decorative sticks for another project I had in mind. Since they have been sitting on the shelf waiting. . .why not use them!

I really like how the tag turned out! Super fun and the Kiwi Kiss with Black is a great combo.

Lots of black sponging and pad-to-paper. It was a smaller class, so I had enough chipboard for everyone. . .This project went over really well at my open house.

Thanks to everyone that was able to make it! So sorry for those of you who had other plans. . .we had a great time ;)

There were some women making these at my 5th level upline's house in Utah (I forgive you for not inviting me ;), and I soooo wanted one to show my girls!

And of course to hang in my house!

For reference. . . the dies that were used are: Pennant, Scallop Circle #2, and Serif Alphabet

So, I made one pretty much exactly like the one I had seen while at Founder's. . .

Then I made one for my daughter. . .You get to see that one next :)

But not tonight! I need to take it outside and get some good pictures. . .It is seriously one of the kewlest things I think I have ever made her.

Avery-4 months

Okay, so is this not the cutest bundle of pink babyness!

So that isn't a word. . .But isn't she???

Also. . .she rolled over today :) about 20 times once she realized she could do it.

But wait. . .if you lean over her and say "BOO". . .

Or if you call her name. . .

or if she is staring at a big black lens of a camera :)

BAM: Her eyes are like dinner plates. Okay, so 98 percent of the time her eyes are open as wide as she can get them :) I think she is afraid she is going to miss something.

Seriously--my first child looked almost exactly the same. She has since grown into the hugeness of her eyes. . . I am going to have to get out the old discs so I can do a side-by-side comparison.

Wow, things are crazy over here!

I am running around like a crazy person :)

I have been trying to get my classes in order, and have plans to do some awesome things in the next couple of months! One snafu currently. . . when I arrived home after my vacation, it was to find my desktop completely non-functional. *yikes*!!!

So. . .no photoshop, no printer, no documents that I have been working on. . .needless to say, it has been difficult! But I was browsing the web and I found this picture:

It is my Founder's Circle swap card!

Someone else posted it on their site, so I snagged the picture :) When my desktop is back up, I will post my own picture with some close ups of detail.

I am trying to get things ready for a class this weekend and an open house next weekend so I am stamping like crazy! I will show you some kewl stuff as soon as I can get caught up.

Who knew being gone for a week would put me so far behind??? I suppose my husband being gone for five days as soon as I got back didn't help . . . *phew*

Founder's Circle day 4 part 1

What an awesome day!

It began with some serious sleeping in :) I have been on vacation, but have been up by 6am every day as well as being up late. . .*yawn*. . . kinda like right now!

Anyhoo, when I finally did get downstairs I did my make and takes with Shelli finishing her swaps. . .It was weird stamping with her across the table from me! Not an everyday experience, ya' know???

I later did some stamping with some other stampers you may recognize. . . See anyone familiar?

Btw, Glenda. . .you are the best. Thank you so much for all you did to make that Zion trip happen, and for keeping an eye on us newbies! It was a pleasure to meet you.

Later that afternoon it was quick getting ready so we could go to our special dinner, which turned out to be at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club--also where High School Musical 2 was filmed :)

They had a big movie screen set up, and a sea of black chairs, and my final treat from Founder's Circle. . .

Unfortunately I have negative amounts of space in my suitcase, so this is going to be traveling with me to be used as a pillow on the airplane :)

This is about the seventh picture taken with Shelli, and I actually like this one! It was pretty funny, and I think she was laughing at me in this picture. . .but hey, I don't want to put a bad picture on my blog! It was only a matter of time before I got one that I was happy with, right?!?

Honestly, all the nice things they say about Shelli are true. She really is that nice, and just a very genuine person. Thanks so much for the experience, Shelli! Hope to stamp with you again soon :)

So, we dined alfresco on a caprese salad appetizer, leafy salad, and pizza. . .which pretty much means we had pizza and salad outside :) Some girl time with a chick flick and a comfy blanket!

Popcorn was served in rolled up Parisan Summer DSP, but by the time I got mine it was too dark to take a picture. . .so I will have to hijack one from another blog so I can show you how cute it was! We had fun, and now I am exhausted and need to pack. I have to be on a bus at 6am for Vegas. . .Yikes!

Founders Circle day 3 part 2

First thing this morning, we were off on buses to the manufacturing facility in Kanab.

I must say, I was blown away after touring this facility! I really had no idea the time and process involved in the making of our well loved stamps. It makes an impression!

The reason you will not see any pictures of the inside, is that you aren't supposed to take any pictures in the manufacturing area. . .trade secrets and all ;)

Hey, I know some trade secrets!

This hangs outside the employee entrance. It reads:

"Through these doors walk the very finest stamp manufacturers in the world."

I don't work for just any company :) I work for the best baby!

You may not be able to see any pictures of the inside of the building, but you *can* see what is left of a stamp set after it has been die cut. . . by me! I got to use a big daddy die cut machine and cut out a "Crazy for Cupcakes" stamp set! I have to say, I do love me a good die cut machine :)

I think I will stick with the big shot tho'!

Afterward, the traditional stop at Denny's Wigwam for take home stuff. . .apparently that is a traditional *must do* every year.

The fudge was super good (thanks Anne-Marie ), and that is coming from someone who worked on Mackinac Island for two years when I was young-so you can believe me :)

The bus ride was approximately two hours, with some fun games on the way back. . .I won a package of Washington Apple Designer Series Paper, and a package of Button Bouquet. Bonus!

This was the view from the van window, if you can even believe it! Such a beautiful place to be.

We went to dinner afterward at a little Italian place, that had some great food.

Phew! I am pooped!

I get to sleep in tomorrow, and have no plans other than stamping my make and takes. I did bring a scrapbooking kit with me, so maybe I will get some pages made too!

I hope to pick the brains of any stamping divas that cross my path tomorrow. . .wish me luck!

More bed candy!

I think when I get home, if my hubby doesn't leave me little presents on my pillow I am going to feel unappreciated . . .

Okay, so maybe I should be leaving them on *his* pillow, because he is the one at home with the kids so I can be here :) But I don't think he would enjoy them half as much as I have been this week. . .

The top glass is beveled, as you can see. These were definitely made just for us! This baby has some weight to it, too.

I noticed I hadn't posted my name badge yet. . .It is in a folded wallet, with a clear pocket in the front. All the '08 rising stars had a little yellow star next to their name.

I hope you are enjoying these pictures! Some of you have mentioned that it is nice to see "what's up" over here, and I figure my girls back home for sure want to know ;) I really had no expectations-simply because I had no idea what founder's circle was.

I am overwhelmed, and just so thankful! What an amazing experience!

Founders Circle Day 2 part 1

Mmmmmm. . . . bed candy!

Apparently, one of SU!'s favorite things to do is leave you little surprises in your room. Here you see the new pink pirouette wallet to match my founders purse!

And we got extra presents at the pj party! (As if swapping with 120+ women wasn't present enough. . .Holy lots of cards!) We received beautiful journals with matching pens!

Here is a picture of the lovely make and takes we will be doing (I haven't had a chance to stamp mine yet. . .). I will take some closer pictures when I have my own projects made.

Last but not least, a picture of where I spent most of the day. . .Mt Zion national park:

It was so gorgeous! A group of us took a shuttle to the park. It was about a 45 minute drive. I had an awesome day! And now I am going to crash :) 8am I am out the door to see Kanab!

Founders circle Day 1 part 3!

So, I was too tired last night to tell you about dinner!

We had a wonderful room full of beautiful tables. . .pink pirouette, black and white everywhere :) And something totally unexpected and so awesome happened.

A small group of us were sitting down, and there were three empty seats at our table. In walks Shelli and her mom, and just take a seat right there! I had the best time! We were talking babies and family, etc, and her mom is just the sweetest thing :)

I think Tiffany got a picture of all of us together. . .if so I will post it when I get a copy!

I made it!

And it is already super fun!

So, I am in my room and have to "pump" (you babies' mommas know what I mean ;) so I thought I would make the time go faster by sharing my kewl pictures. . .

I found Tiffany (who is a fellow rising star-#1-go girl!) at the Vegas airport. . . this is us riding to St George, Utah on the shuttle bus. . .lots of time to chat with the other demos, too!

This card is one we made at my Upline's meeting. . .isn't it cute!

I don't know who made the first scallop punch ladybug, but thank you for this super cute idea! I hadn't seen this before the meeting, but I have since spotted it on Linda Guiterrez's blog. I am sure it is all over splitcoast, but it was new to me :)

The ladybug is made using four scallop circles. These are from Washington Apple Designer series paper. . . so cute! Her little head is a 1in circle, and antennae are a 1/4in circle each.

The sentiment is from flight of the butterfly. What a sweet thing to say!

Other stuff: R Riding hood paper and striped ribbon, So Saffron paper, scallop edge punch, basic black ink. . .did I get everything?

I am off to Grand Rapids today, and flying out to Utah in the morning!!!!!

I am going to really try and work it out so I can bring my laptop with me. . .I am figuring out the luggage situation right now, so we will see how it goes. If you don't hear from me, I couldn't make it work! Here's hoping :)

I really wanted to do something fun for my Daughter for school. . .

I used shiny white acrylic paint for the Inspired by Nature flower image, and black acrylic paint for the letters. The alphabet used was Schoolbook Serif. I really like how it turned out.

It was, however, my second attempt :)

The first one I used a different alpha, and I did NOT like it. . .I also tried using stazon and filling in with a sharpie (this worked last year, but the alpha was really thin) and it ended up bleeding sharpie ink. Not cool. So I pitched it and bought a new one.

The good part is they are only $5 at Walmart! Bonus :)

There was a little rubber tab on the backpack, and I put a flower brad on it. Just punched a hole with the crop-a-dile. What did I do before I had that tool??? I love that thing :)

Pretty in pink grograin and filigree brads were used as the zipper pulls. Regan Luuuuuvs that part :) I have to say, I really like how it turned out.

I just pulled both ends of the ribbon thru and knotted it.

As far as I know, Walmart only has pink backpacks. . . .in case you were wondering. My Upline went looking today and couldn't find a $5 black one. Bummer!

A little something stamped :)

My daughter is turning 6 years old next week (*sniffle*) and we are having a little get together. A bit smaller than she would like, as we are not inviting everyone she has ever met. . .

The invitation uses the set Perfect Princess. I chose a relatively simple design, as I had to make twenty of these last Thursday to pass out on Friday. . . .*ahem*

Yes, it would have been easier to start a month ago--but that just wouldn't be me :)

The card front was cut using my new most fabulous BIG SHOT die cut machine!

*fanning myself* It is sooooo fun :)

The little butterfly was punched out with the 1inch circle punch. If you are just making a few of these. . .please put glitter on the little wings! and on the flowers, too.

Those poor things are naked--at the rate I had to make them there would have been a cloud of dazzling diamonds. My baby girl would have looked like a disco ball :)

Mmmmm. . .pretty in pink taffeta :)

I used the slot punch to thread the ribbon thru, and it goes all the way around.

I have been stamping, but haven't had the time to post anything. . .but never fear! I am going to try and post at least once a week. It will probably be more than that, but I don't want to dissapoint! We shall see what the little one allows, okay?

I am going to flood my blog with posts today. . . but don't worry-it is only because this is my first day back to blogging since the baby was born :) But I *have* to tell you my big news!

I am going to St George, Utah!!!

Why, you might ask? Because I won an award called Rising Star!

*insert me passing out, and then picking myself back up off the floor*

Here are some of the goodies Stampin' Up! has been sending me to make me feel like a rock star:

They are also going to send me a Tiffany necklace??? I have *never* had anything from Tiffany before! Someone slap me, because this can not be really happening!

In case you were wondering what Rising Star is, I looked it up in my demo manual. . .

It is awarded to the top 15 first year demonstrators in the United States(I believe three win in Canada) for a balanced approach to their business. There is a point system, which I won't bore you with. . . but how awesome that I am going to Utah! Especially since I didn't get to go to Convention this year. If you don't remember why, refer to the post below this one! ;)

I am so excited!

My upline and good friend called me from Convention to tell me the news. . . I still have the voicemail on my phone. I can't bear to delete it :) I was just sitting there listening to the message, and tears were streaming down my face (okay, I just had a kid so I can't handle excitement without crying :).

My husband looked at me like I was crazy, "Are you crying?!?!?"

He so doesn't get it :)

Or at least didn't until I told him I was 13th in the country and got a free trip amongst other fabulous prizes! I should have told him to equate it to winning on The Price is Right. . .

Don't tell him I told you, but he loves that show.

Speaking of fabulous things. . . my upline also brought me all kindsa fabulous presents from convention as a congratulations gift! Here is the project tote:

I have been using that baby since I got it. . .it is the perfect size! The pattern on the inside is from our Maine Blueberry Designer Series Paper. . .so gorgeous!

For those of you who have been faithfully reading my blog for a while now, please excuse my lack of recent posts, and the interruption of regularly scheduled programming. . .

And thanks for stopping by!

I would like to introduce you to the newest member of my family :)

Avery Lea arrived on May 28th, 2008 at 0755 hrs.

Weighing in at a healthy 8.1 lbs and measuring 20.5 in. long, she is the picture of blotchy new baby health. As my husband always says, new babies look like gremlins. . .

But what a cute little gremlin she is!

Big sister can not get enough of holding the baby. She would hold her all day if she could.

She does a lot of this yawning. And sleeping.

Too bad it is only for about 2 hours at a time. . .

Here she shows off her "Spinner Scowl". My husband's contribution to her genetics.

All in all, things are going really well. The only real snafu was when I realized my child was constantly hungry because I wasn't "producing" to the required amount. . .*yikes*

So, now she gets a little milk from me, and a little from a can, and she is happy as she can be!

The unfortunate side effect of babies dropping a full pound in the first week is that she is now making up for lost time and eating constantly. But hey--what new mom actually gets to sleep, right? Thank heavens for my husband who has been right there up with me all night.

He is the best :)

Don't tell him I said that, it'll be our secret. . .

Btw, I am going to wait a bit longer until things settle down. . .then my blog posts should be fairly regular again. . . another Pockets and Blooms Project

This is a little gift we made at my Pockets and Blooms class.

I made the little 3x3's thinking tags, however they could be little notecards. . .either way, as the sentiment is general. We did the rock and roll technique with the limes using Certainly Celery and Old Olive.

So kewl how a little layering can give you something so cute!

Staying busy on the homefront--I have most of the baby clothes washed (please don't ask me if they are put away), and I have been trying to take some inventory. Thank goodness I found the entire bag of baby bottles I was missing. . . That was a bit frustrating.

I went to Target, as I wasn't sure what I needed or was forgetting about. . .

It is amazing what you can forget about in five years!

Then you start remembering things when you are walking down the baby aisles. . . looking at all the little tiny things :) I had a lot of fun, and I also realized I must have gotten rid of a bunch of stuff! Back to the basics I guess!
